A "Stuck in Park" is a common problem with Mercedes 215 and 220chassis from 2001 thru 2006. The cause is the failure of the plastic park Un-lock lever in the ESM. This lever provides the linkage between the Un-lock solenoid and the shifter. It also provides positive retention of the locking pawl in the locked position when the EMS is in park and the solenoid is not energized.
